Artesunate Injection IP 120mg is an antiparasitic medication primarily used to treat severe malaria, including cases caused by the Plasmodium falciparum parasite.  It is administered intravenously and is crucial when oral medications are not tolerated or when rapid reduction of malaria parasites is necessary. This medication is not intended for malaria prevention or for treating mild cases of malaria. It can also be used in combination with other antimalarial drugs for certain types of malaria, such as those caused by Plasmodium ovale or Plasmodium vivax.
